Panoramas offer a way for us to "see" more than an average photograph offers. And since the eraly 1900's
photographers offered several panoramic views of the Town. Featured in this section of t he book,
as well as below on this web page are four panaramas taken during those early days.
These panoramas were all taken from a point on or near what is known as "The Star" on Propect Mountain.
In order, the first one is a panorama by William T. Parke, a popular publisher of post cards
during that era. This panorama dates to circa. 1910.
The second panorama was taken by a well known photographer named F. P. Clatworthy.
Clatworthy took many hundreds of classic photorgraphs which eventually became known
nations wide. As well, Clatworthy eventually went on to be a photographer for the well known
National Geographic publication. He lived in a modest home at the west side of Prospect Mountain.
Here, Clatworhty offers his version of a panorama of Estes Park. It is dated 1924.
The third panrorama was taken by V. T. Brown. It dates to 1934.
And finally, Clatworthy re-shot his panorama in 1940 and helps us see the tremendous amount of
development that Estes Park went through in just 16 years!
