Estes Park Country Club

Even with the beautiful views there has always been the desire to market Estes park

with some more modern features. The Lord Dunraven built a huge hotel where tourists

could stay comfortably, along with a 9 hole golf course located just accross Fish Creek.

When the hotel burned down in 1911 the golf course was abandoned. But Later on

F. O. Stanely, along with some other individuals, purchased 120 acres of land on which

the old golf course was located in order to build a more modern 18 hole course.

F. P. Clatworthy featured the area near the present day club house with one of

his famous panoramics. Here is a then-and-now of that panroama.
